Farthest Distance To Shoot A Matchstick In Half

    Well, as for me, I can't see a matchstick more than maybe ten yards, but I'd keep my distance about five to seven-and-a-half yards at most. Shooting playing cards edgewise five yards maximum for me. Haven't done any such shooting in a long time, though.

    I used to try "trick" shots, not really trick but precise, shooting. At times I've shot through, end to end, the tube core from paper towels or the core from toilet tissue. On two occasions I've shot through empty 12 ga. shotgun shells, and once fired a .38 bullet into the open end of an empty .38 case. The big trick in shooting shotgun shells or cartridge cases is finding the case after the shot.

    (I consider "trick shooting" making it look as if the shot was made when some trickery was used to make the audience think the shot was made.)
